✝️ Why This Moment Matters for Israel — and for You
Joel Rosenberg on the impact of the Gospel post-Oct. 7th on Jews and Arabs.
Good morning, my brothers! This morning, we deviate a bit from our typical writing. We’re honored to hear from our brother, noted author and TBN host Joel Rosenberg, who lives in Jerusalem and is doing powerful work for the Gospel in the Middle East, on how God is moving in the Middle East since the horrifying events of October 7, 2023. This is a critical message for all believers. Let’s go!
This week: 4-minute, 38-second read
Would you be interested in a More The Man trip to Israel in 2026? The Lord has laid this possibility on my heart, but first I want to see if others might be interested in such a trip. We’d do it right with top-flight guides, and as economically as possible. But first, I wanted to see if there would be interest in the fraternity for such a trip. If so, let me know: Send a note to Will.
Israel and The Middle East
Jesus On the Move in The Middle East
For years, my heart has burned for Israel. Not just because of headlines or politics, but because Scripture could not be clearer: God calls His people to bless and stand with His covenant people, as promised to Abraham.
I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse;
and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.
That conviction became even more real for me in the fall of 2024 when I had the privilege of spending time with Joel Rosenberg and the remarkable team at The Joshua Fund. What I experienced there changed me.
I saw men and women who love Jesus deeply, serving Israelis and their neighbors with courage, compassion, and a relentless commitment to the gospel. I heard stories from believers in Gaza and those on the front lines about what really had been happening since the tragedy of October 7th. I met the former (and future?) Prime Minister of Israel, Naftali Bennett. My heart was stirred.
A Cultural and Spiritual Battle
And I came home convinced of this truth: what God is doing in Israel right now is one of the most critical spiritual stories of our generation. Joel Rosenberg, noted author, host of The Rosenberg Report on TBN, and the founder of The Joshua Fund (along with his wife Lynne) graciously penned the following for the More The Man fraternity.
My brother, as you read this, I pray your heart is stirred the way mine was. Joel shows you and me why Israel should be important to us today.
An Update From Israel - Joel Rosenberg
Every week, headlines about Israel grow darker—and more confusing. Recently, a prominent American commentator gave a platform to an openly anti-Israel and even anti-Jewish voice. That moment reminded us that the battle over truth isn’t just raging in the Middle East. It’s raging in our own hearts and homes.
That’s why we return to God’s Word. No matter what the news cycle says, Scripture gives us clarity: God is not finished with Israel. He has a plan, a purpose, and a promise for the Jewish people. And He calls His church to stand with Israel and Her Neighbors in love, truth, and compassion.
The Shock of October 7
When Hamas terrorists invaded Israel on October 7, 2023, the world witnessed the worst slaughter of Jewish people in a single day since the Holocaust. It was evil—pure, demonic evil.
There is now a clear “before October 7” and “after October 7.” Just as 9/11 reshaped America, that day reshaped the entire Middle East.
Yet even in the horror, something extraordinary is unfolding. God is shaking His people, waking them up spiritually, and reminding them that He alone is their shepherd and protector.
A Hungry and Searching Generation
Most Israelis today don’t believe a shepherd even exists. Many have forgotten David’s words: “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” But in the midst of crisis, hearts are softening. People are asking questions they haven’t asked in generations. Openness to the gospel—the true message of peace through Yeshua (Jesus)—is higher than we’ve seen in decades.
Why Israel Matters to Every Believer
Israel’s significance isn’t political—it’s biblical.
From Genesis to Revelation, God’s heart for Israel stands unmistakably clear.
In Genesis 12:3, God promises Abraham, “I will bless those who bless you, and curse those who curse you.” That covenant isn’t obsolete; it’s eternal. God still identifies Himself as “the God of Israel.” He hasn’t revoked His name or His promises.
When Paul writes in Romans 11 that “all Israel will be saved,” he isn’t speaking poetically. He’s describing the culmination of a story God began thousands of years ago—a story of redemption through the Messiah, first for the Jew, then for the Gentile.
If God is faithful to Israel, then every believer should care about what happens to Israel. His covenant faithfulness to the Jewish people confirms His covenant faithfulness to all who are in Christ.
Supporting Israel, then, is not about politics. It’s about aligning with the heart of God. It’s about being watchmen on the wall—standing guard in prayer, generosity, and truth while the world turns away.
The Joshua Fund’s Mission in a Critical Hour
At The Joshua Fund, we take these promises seriously. In Matthew 9: 35–38, we read that Jesus traveled through towns and villages, teaching, proclaiming the good news, and healing every sickness. When He saw the crowds, “He had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.”
That is the model we follow—teaching the Word, proclaiming the gospel, showing compassion through practical aid, and strengthening believers who serve in some of the most challenging places on earth.
Serving Israel and Her Neighbors
The Joshua Fund partners with local congregations—both Jewish and Arab—to provide food, counseling, and encouragement to families impacted by war. We invest in biblical training for pastors and evangelists who are planting new churches. We support ministries that bring the gospel online to millions across the Middle East who are searching for truth.
A New Battle Among Young Evangelicals
As the regional conflict escalates, another battle is emerging—not in Gaza or Tehran, but in the hearts of young evangelicals in the United States.
Before the war, support was already dropping quickly. Polls showed that fewer young believers stood with Israel. Many are being discipled by TikTok and YouTube rather than by Scripture. They see the destruction in Gaza and assume compassion requires abandoning biblical truth.
We must pray for them—and take responsibility for them. In Deuteronomy 6, God commands His people to teach His Word diligently to their children. That calling still stands. We cannot outsource it.
We must help this generation understand why Israel matters—not because of nationalism, but because of God’s redemptive story.
Compassion for Israel and Her Neighbors
Just as important, we must model Jesus' compassion. Sometimes Christians who love Israel forget that God also loves Her Neighbors. Every human being—Jew or Arab—is created in God’s image. The lost are like sheep without a shepherd. Jesus commands us to love both our neighbors and our enemies.
What You Won’t Hear in the Mainstream Media
Most major news outlets rarely show the compassion of believers on the ground or the quiet revival growing among both Jews and Arabs. Through war, tragedy, and turmoil, God is still writing His story. The gospel continues to advance. Hearts are changing. And Jesus reminds us, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.”
You Can Be Part of the Harvest
When you give, pray, or share these truths, you become part of the harvest work—helping bless Israel and Her Neighbors in the name of Jesus.
You strengthen the body of Christ in the EPICENTER®. You remind the Jewish people that they are not forgotten—that Christians around the world love them, not because of politics but because of God's promises.
Isaiah wrote, “For Zion’s sake I will not keep silent, and for Jerusalem’s sake I will not remain quiet, till her righteousness shines out like the dawn, her salvation like a blazing torch.”
That is our mission—to speak, to stand, and to intercede until the light of salvation shines brightly across the Middle East. We are living in days when prophecy is being fulfilled before our eyes.
A Critical Opportunity to Respond
The Lord is shaking nations, opening doors, and calling His church to action. We can’t be silent. Nor can we be passive. We must bless Israel and Her Neighbors—spiritually and physically—while there is still time.
Friend, the world is changing quickly. The Middle East is in turmoil. Yet in the midst of chaos, the gospel is advancing. Hearts are opening. Hope is being restored. You can be part of that story today.
