Good morning, my brothers! God intentionally reduced Gideon's army from 32,000 to 300. Why? Because the greatest obstacle to victory wasn't the enemy. It was the temptation to trust in themselves. Let’s go! A 49-second read.

300 > 100,000
Most men think they need “more” before God can use them.
More confidence. More knowledge. More experience. More resources. More certainty.
Gideon thought the same thing in Judges 6-7 when God asked him to lead the Israelites in battle against the Midianites.
When God called him, Gideon wasn't leading any army. He was hiding in a winepress, convinced he was the wrong man for the job.
Yet God saw something Gideon couldn't see: God wasn't looking for the strongest man. He was looking for a surrendered one.
Thirty-two thousand men answered the call to fight with Gideon. It wasn't enough to match the Midianites' army of more than 100,000, but it was enough for Israel to think they might have something to do with the victory.
So God started sending men home.
Twenty-two thousand left. Then thousands more.
Until only 300 remained.
At that point, victory wasn't just unlikely. It was impossible…which was exactly where God wanted them.
When we have enough strength, we tend to trust ourselves. When we don't, we learn to trust Him.
That's why Gideon's story still matters to us today.
Many of us are facing battles that feel too big right now. A struggling marriage. A wayward child. Financial pressure. A health challenge. A calling that feels far beyond our abilities.
We keep asking God for more.
But what if He's inviting us to deeper trust instead?
The lesson of Gideon's 300 is simple: God doesn't need more capable men.
He needs willing men. Men who will trust Him when the odds don't make sense. Men who will obey before we know the outcome.
Men who believe that God is enough.
Because He still is.
Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.

The More The Man 300
Over the last two years, what began as a burden to help men grow in intimacy with Jesus became the More The Man newsletter and, now, the More The Man book, which is being published in September.
Today, I'm looking for 300 Wingmen to join the More The Man 300. Not because I need 300 marketers. Not because I need 300 influencers.
But because I believe God often works through men who are willing to say yes. And I’m asking you to prayerfully consider saying yes to praying about and sharing the message of the book.
As a member of the team, you'll receive an advance PDF copy of the book, specific prayer prompts, exclusive updates, opportunities to provide feedback, and specific ways to help place this message into the hands of men who need it most.
Most importantly, you'll be helping advance a mission that is bigger than a book: drawing men to a deeper relationship with Jesus.
If that resonates with you, prayerfully consider becoming one of The 300.
